Privacy
Information on the processing of personal data pursuant to Art. 13 GDPR · Last updated: 1 October 2026 · covers the SteadyPoint app and this website.
In short:
- SteadyPoint does not store what you type.
- What you type or do never leaves your Mac.
- The only connection: the licence check for Gumroad keys in the Pro edition.
- This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.

2. The SteadyPoint app
2.1 Input
SteadyPoint makes mouse and keyboard steadier. To do so it reads your input in memory to recognise twitches and double key presses. The input is neither stored nor transmitted. In particular, SteadyPoint does not store what you type.
2.2 Permission from macOS
For this, SteadyPoint needs the “Accessibility” permission. You grant it yourself in System Settings and can withdraw it there at any time.
2.3 Connection to the internet
SteadyPoint from the Mac App Store makes no internet connections of its own. Apple handles purchase and trial through the App Store (StoreKit). We receive no payment or account data.
SteadyPoint Pro makes exactly one connection: the licence check with Gumroad. It happens only when you activate a Gumroad licence key, and afterwards for a repeat check, at most every 30 days, when the program starts or the Mac wakes. What is sent: the licence key you entered, the product identifier (the same for all buyers) and the information that the use count is not to be increased. Technically unavoidably, Gumroad also receives your IP address and the usual program identification (SteadyPoint and version, CFNetwork, Darwin). No cookies, no device identifier and no usage or settings data are sent. Recipient: Gumroad Inc. (USA). Purpose: licence check. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Purchase and payment are governed by the privacy terms of the respective sales platform. Keys from Booth and other platforms are checked entirely on your Mac, with no connection.
In both editions there is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server of ours that receives data from the app. If this changes, for example through an update check, we will update this policy beforehand and describe what is transmitted.
2.4 What is stored on your Mac
Your settings (for example the chosen strength) and a change log for them stay on your Mac only. “Remove SteadyPoint …” in the settings deletes them. You can save the settings as a file and pass it on yourself.
The app only remembers on your Mac when it last checked the purchase, so that a wrong clock is noticed. This never leaves your Mac. In SteadyPoint Pro, the licence key, the start of the trial and the time of the last online check are kept in your Mac's keychain.
2.5 Details for support
Under “Help and contact” you can copy technical details to the clipboard, for example the versions. They contain no personal content. Nothing is sent: you decide whether and when to paste the details into an email to us.
3. The website
3.1 No cookies, no analytics
This website sets no cookies, uses no audience measurement and embeds no third-party content. Fonts and images are on our own server. So there is no consent banner to confirm.
3.2 Server log files
When you visit, our server automatically processes access data: IP address, date and time, requested page, data volume, referrer and user agent. Purpose: secure, stable operation and defence against attacks. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Retention: at most 7 days, then automatic deletion.
3.3 Hosting
The website is run on our own server in the EU (OVH). Data is not passed on to other hosting providers.
3.4 Launch notification (email sign-up)
If you sign up on the “Try and buy” page, we store the email address you enter, with the time and language. Purpose: we write to you once, when SteadyPoint is ready to download. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Storage: on our own server only, no sharing, no mailing-list provider. Retention: until that one notification, after which we delete the address. You can ask for deletion at any time by email. Providing this information is voluntary.
3.5 Contact by email
If you write to us, we process your message and sender address to answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. We delete the data once the request is dealt with and no legal duty prevents it.
4. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You can complain to a data protection authority. If you have questions, write to contact@amx-mediensysteme.de.
5. Changes
If the app or website changes in a way that changes data processing, we will update this policy. The date above shows the current version.
